Here I am down in sunny Arizona practicing for retirement. Husband and I are here for a month trying out what it will be like when I really decide to be retired. He quit work back in April and has been practicing for several months now. I am not all that anxious to give up my work. The best part so far is I get to work when I want to work. . that's the beauty of substitute teaching. Plus the fact I have been going to school forever and just can't seem to give it up. . . .
Being down here is like going to bed one night and waking up in another world. . .everywhere we go, there are folks my age or older. It is just weird! Everyone being old at the same time. . .it's like we all came here for an old folks meeting. There are all kinds of things to do here at the camp. Cards, exercise (could be considered work by some), billiards, dance, swimming, crafts, etc. Lots of games, too. So many choices and so much time. . . I used to say, so many choices and so little time. What's wrong with this picture?
Next week, I must jump in and make myself try out some of this stuff that I used to think would be so much fun ---if I only had time to do it. . . Ha!! So---I am going to jump in with both feet and start having fun--even if it kills me.
Well. . . .enough about the camp. . .more on that for another time. Next time, I'll tell you all about some of the cool stops we made on the way down here.
Hi Pam! When I spent some time in the Tucson area last year one of my highlights was a forest - high on my recommendations list if you are close by.
